The Program is gathering momentum as we implement a few changes that we agreed over the Christmas break. Helpers’ hours have been better adjusted to give the best for them and the best for Angie, and on a daily basis it is working well.
The Program is gathering momentum as we implement a few changes that we agreed over the Christmas break. Helpers’ hours have been better adjusted to give the best for them and the best for Angie, and on a daily basis it is working well. Adverts and job descriptions have gone out to the local colleges to try and find our 2 new special people to help us at weekends and holidays. Babs working hours are now on a totally flexible contract and so far are fitting well around the Program as long as she does 20 hours. Angie’s hours spent in the room are now gradually increasing.
Over the Christmas hols it was all a bit out of routine for Angie and she did have a couple occasions of regression which the Autism Center tell us happens when Angie is “absorbing her progress”. This is borne out by the multitude of single words she has uttered clearly in the last three days, and not just in the therapy sessions.
It was a good fun Christmas with her, she was very into her presents and played well with them, and we did get to see our lovely family, particularly her two half-sisters, which is a rare treat we’re all so many miles apart.
It sounds like any ordinary Christmas I know, but we have come such a long way; our Christmases used to be sad and lonely.
Not anymore.
We have so much to be thankful for.
Other plans include a big writing project for Babs, and for Nigel a further increase in his session work, and higher profile for his band and a new duo he is working on. We are hoping Ratcliffe Creative will have a productive and successful year this year, there isn’t any reason why it shouldn’t!
Also hoping for a greater media presence for Angie’s Miracles as we pursue more ideas from our dear friend, Richard Hughes. Watch this space.
