I’d like to draw people’s attention to Gary’s lyrics in the title track of Miracles in case people haven’t twigged:
“….. I’m short of miracles …… there’s no way on from here…….”
Just recently, having been faced with a few negative comments coming my way I have had to clarify what I really think about “Miracles”. I don’t believe in magic and I am not a fool chasing rainbows.
I believe in the power of human love and strength to change things, and the freedom that acceptance and non-judgement of myself and others brings.
So-called miracles take a lot of patience and hard work, and it’s in all of us to find them.
The truth is Son-Rise helps some autistic people achieve great things; some a few good things, and some overcome one or two major challenges. From my research and communication some need more support to receive the therapy than others, but the joining approach works with everyone. I don’t know which one it will be for us. Nonetheless, I am sure we can do better than we have so far. What have we got to lose? Nothing – and everything to gain.
Don’t be put off by claims of recovery – read between the lines. Be open.
I received everything I first learned with a very sceptical attitude, yet Angie has changed: is happier, so much more able to love. I look forward to her company now instead of longing for someone to take her off my hands as I used to. Surely that in itself could be termed “miraculous” I’m not looking for “cure” I just want to enjoy the life I’ve been given. I want her to enjoy hers.
But as I said at the beginning “I’m short of a miracle…” but maybe we can make small ones of our own. All of us
